A Few Firsts...

Fast forward 8 years, and I totally forgot I had this blog! This was a draft that hadn't been published so here it is. Guess I should update this thing. 😂

Hi there! Bri is 7 months old now, sheesh.  She now has 2 teeth (bottom).  We had a couple firsts with Bri this past month.  She got her first fever, which lasted for 3 days. We took her to the doctor, but they couldn't find anything. They put a catheter in to get a urine sample to make sure she didn't have a UTI. :( I felt so bad for her. It turns out, she just had a fever virus called Roseola. She got a rash after the fever broke and that's the tell-tale sign. The rash is just about gone now. It wasn't too noticeable and didn't seem to bother her, so that was good. She hasn't been quite the same happy girl since though (about a week ago). Now, we've noticed she has a runny nose and has been quite fussy lately. I think she's teething. We shall see! The other first we had was taking her to the park and putting her in a baby swing for the first time. She LOVED it! :) I am so excited for the cooler weather to come so we can spend more time outside. :)  She's getting closer to crawling, but hasn't figured it out just yet. She loves rolling around thought and can get to a destination that way just fine, haha.

Timeless Love

So, yesterday I was digging through my purse and came across my dad's old watch face. It's one of those digital ones. I had been throwing it in my purse whenever I switched purses, just to have it in there, because it would beep every now and then and fondly remind me of my dad.  It didn't have the right time and I didn't know how to change it, but that was okay. I pulled it out because I noticed there weren't any numbers on it.  The watch had finally died.  I'm not sure when exactly, but it had, and sometime this year for sure. Mind you that my dad passed away 9 years ago on December 22nd. I wasn't very sad when I realized the watch had stopped. I just kind of had the feeling of "aw, that's too bad."  Because I guess I realized at that moment that the watch wasn't going to keep me close to my dad.  It's just a watch. And now a dead one at that. I have been thinking about dad a lot lately, as I always do when the holidays come aro...

WE ARE HOMEOWNERS!!

Hello!  We are officially homeowners!!! :) Yippee!! Tonight, we moved the refrigerator and about 10 boxes into the house.  So tonight is our last night in the apartment and we're going to move everything out tomorrow! :) We are so thankful!!

28 Weeks and Counting...

Hello all! Well, I'm 28 weeks along now and time has been flying!  A couple things in my life have been ending or will be ending soon. I quit my job to stay home with Bri and our new baby girl.  J has decided he'd rather me stay home and work overtime a shift or two to cover my paycheck. So here we are. It was sad to leave my kids and my friends at work, but the time for me to leave was coming soon anyway, and I was ready.  I thought I was going to be an emotional mess on my last day, which was Friday, but I did pretty well. I did cry but not too badly and I felt a peace about it all as I left.  The guy who is taking my place seems nice and like he'll fit in well. Plus, the kids like him so that makes me happy. Anyhow, my last class of my masters degree is coming up this week.  I will finally be finished! Hallelujah! It's been four years and I'm so ready. My graduation is the first week in May and my family is coming into town so that will be fun! :) Things are ...
