Hello my four followers! Haha!

We have some news...
First of all, Justin and I have been married for a year as of this past Sunday! :-)
We were lucky enough to be able to spend the weekend at a condo on Pensacola beach (courtesy) of friends. It was beautiful! We both came home a little pink (Justin moreso than I) and wishing we didn't have to leave.



In other news, we've decided to put a hold on the house hunt. We're hoping to have more of a downpayment in time as well. So we'll just stay in our apartment until the lease is up at the end of the year, then check out apartments in Baldwin co. (hopefully) and stay in an apt. until we are ready to find a house. We figure we should wait until I can get a school counseling job and until Justin can find a job in the same area, so we don't have to sell the house right after we get it. I cannot wait til we get one though! I have been watching too much HGTV. Anyway, so that's to be continued...

Speaking of Baldwin county...I got a new job! I will be working at the Baldwin Co. Mental Health Center as a Children's Behavioral Specialist. Doesn't it sound fancy?? :-) I'll be helping the 10 students (K-5th) by modeling appropriate behaviors and redirecting theirs. Also, I'll plan group sessions where I'll teach life skills (hygiene, social skills, etc). And during the summer, it sounds like it will be a blast! Every Wednesday is spent at the local pool and every Friday is a fieldtrip! Woo hoo! I'll plan field trips too (about once a month). I'm quite excited! I'll finally be using that psych degree! :-) I start in a couple weeks. I'll keep you updated on that...

Justin and I are starting our summer courses this week and next week. Mine started this week (one course). Justin's starts next week, and he's going to be doing hospital rotations. I'm sure he'll do great and have lots of stories to tell me.

So, yesterday I was digging through my purse and came across my dad's old watch face. It's one of those digital ones. I had been throwing it in my purse whenever I switched purses, just to have it in there, because it would beep every now and then and fondly remind me of my dad.  It didn't have the right time and I didn't know how to change it, but that was okay. I pulled it out because I noticed there weren't any numbers on it.  The watch had finally died.  I'm not sure when exactly, but it had, and sometime this year for sure. Mind you that my dad passed away 9 years ago on December 22nd. I wasn't very sad when I realized the watch had stopped. I just kind of had the feeling of "aw, that's too bad."  Because I guess I realized at that moment that the watch wasn't going to keep me close to my dad.  It's just a watch. And now a dead one at that. I have been thinking about dad a lot lately, as I always do when the holidays come aro...

WE ARE HOMEOWNERS!!

Hello!  We are officially homeowners!!! :) Yippee!! Tonight, we moved the refrigerator and about 10 boxes into the house.  So tonight is our last night in the apartment and we're going to move everything out tomorrow! :) We are so thankful!!

28 Weeks and Counting...

Hello all! Well, I'm 28 weeks along now and time has been flying!  A couple things in my life have been ending or will be ending soon. I quit my job to stay home with Bri and our new baby girl.  J has decided he'd rather me stay home and work overtime a shift or two to cover my paycheck. So here we are. It was sad to leave my kids and my friends at work, but the time for me to leave was coming soon anyway, and I was ready.  I thought I was going to be an emotional mess on my last day, which was Friday, but I did pretty well. I did cry but not too badly and I felt a peace about it all as I left.  The guy who is taking my place seems nice and like he'll fit in well. Plus, the kids like him so that makes me happy. Anyhow, my last class of my masters degree is coming up this week.  I will finally be finished! Hallelujah! It's been four years and I'm so ready. My graduation is the first week in May and my family is coming into town so that will be fun! :) Things are ...
